Sock The Walk’s (Declassified) Back To School Playlist

Technically, it is not “back to school” season on the internet.

Every August, about midway through the sweltering hot month, YouTubers and bloggers alike begin to exclusively about going back to school. Personally, whenever I see them mid-August, all of my dreams that summer will last forever get crushed and I become stressed for the school year to come. So I am here, due to being swamped with uni work, to say that it is still back to school season! This could be directly due to me not putting my blog as my priority, yet I still stand with the point that the entire month of September is “back to school” season. Have you memorized your schedule yet? Do you still know exactly where everything is around campus? Do you still arrive at each lecture thirty minutes early? Do you still do all the readings?! (Just wait until two weeks…we’ll see how things change)  My point exactly. You are still adjusting to a new way of living whether this is your first year in university, or first time taking a god awful elective.

So how can I help you on your quest to change and fitting in?!

During times of peril and change, my form of escape is music. Whether you are sitting on the streetcar to school looking out the window pretending your life is a music video or putting in earbuds to avoid having to hear everyone around you stress out over that first assignment that is worth 10% of your mark, your music is a form of escape in the real world. It is a break from reality.

Every back to school season, I create a playlist for what I want my “vibe” to be this next year. Call me cliché that I like a new “vibe” but do not lie, if you were given the chance to re-invent yourself wouldn’t you?! So take what you want from this playlist, but it is here to motivate, heal, and help you power through in good times, lit nights, and tear-inducing rainy days.
