Beauty: Get Your (Freckle) Glow On This Summer!

Happy Socking Sunday everyone!

As you know, it is finally the most wonderful time of the year! The sun is shining and my freckles are popping out! To all you freckled ladies out there, it may be hard to protect your spotted faces while getting a tan. It also is EXTREMELY hard to find makeup that does not cover up your freckles. I have searched the web far and wide for makeup tutorials for us freckled gals, but let me tell you…there is NOTHING out there! Us freckled gals gotta stick together, so I decided to share my own routine! Here are the tools and tips I use to get my freckle glow all year round! This routine is super quick and easy, it takes me 5 minutes to complete from start to end.

#1: Moisturize & Prime

Moisturizer is my key to beautiful skin. Not only does it give you a youthful glow, but it protects your face without clogging up your pores (especially when it has SPF included in it!) Every morning and night I moisturize my face and neck with the Cetaphil Oil Control Moisturizer SPF 30. This moisturizer does not sit on my oily skin and protects me from the sun rays all day.

I then start off by applying the Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser on the bridge of my nose and the regions in close proximity to make sure I do not have that greasy face feeling all day long. This is the perfect drugstore dupe for the Pore Eraser from Benefit.

Lastly, I apply the Burberry Fresh Glow Primer in the shade 01, all over my face. This is my ride or die! 99% of the time I do not apply bb cream on top because it gives the most gorgeous glow I’ve ever seen. Highlighter who?

#2: Conceal The Haters

Now it’s time to really go from a 1 to a 10. Goodbye eye bags and festering red pimples, hello clear complexion! I currently am using a stick concealer but the real ride or die is the Match Perfection Concealer from Rimmel London

*I do not do my brows (since they are caterpillars) so I brush them with a spooley but insert your routine here*

#3: Swipe Right On Your Eyes😉

When you are going for an overall natural glow never forget about the eyes. For a cheap and effective look, I simply use the Essence 2 in 1 Shadow and Liner in the shade Peach Perfect. and dab the harsh lines in with my fingers. This gives a simple glow that makes your eyes pop! If you prefer higher end makeup, use the Burberry Eye Colour Contour in the shade, Pale Copper.  I love the creamy and blendable formula that is easy to use on and under the eye.

I then lift my lashes with the classic Maybelline GREAT LASH® LOTS OF LASHES® WASHABLE MASCARA

#4: Use Some Vitamin BB

To all you freckled gals…NEVER COVER YOUR FRECKLES. They are so unique and adorable. You may be thinking, “easy for you to say, no products let freckles shine through”. Have you tried a BB Cream? My personal favourite, the Garnier BB Cream  lifts up my face and has the most amazing scent. Seriously, I would make that into a perfume.

The last step?

#5: Stay Popping!!✨👏🏻🔥

Now is the best step. Are you ready to glowwwww? Depending on the day, I apply either the Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector or  the Opal Spotlight Wand ! (These highlighters are brighter than my future at this point) Apply the glow to the cheekbones, bridge of nose, cupids bow, inner corner of the eye, and a bit on the chin.

To finish of the look, brush a bit of bronzer on the cheeks/all over baby! Bronzer works wonders for freckles. It looks 100 times better than blush because it does not consist of harsh colours and goes with the natural look that freckled face gives off. I use the Rimmel London Shimmer Bronzer

& there you have it! A look that makes you a glowing goddess all summer long! Comment down below your favourite products and what you do to get your glow? I hope you enjoyed this!
