5 Lessons I’ve Learned From Downton Abbey

*hears Downton Abbey theme song*

“Oh sorry, it’s my ring tone”

“We only started watching Downton 2 days ago…”

It’s true. I have an obsession.

Usually when Beauty bloggers make an August favourites post, they talk about the next beauty craze, then there’s me. My July/August favourite is: Downton Abbey. For the past 3 weeks, I have been taking my daily dose of British drama…and it has’t been all to waste!! I have learned a few lessons from the emotional show, 5 to be exact, so I’m going to share it with you guys.

**Trust me…I won’t spoil anything 😉 ( 10/10 would recommend this show though so hit up Netflix and become like me)**

Everything sounds better with a British accent! Try saying, “It always happens when you give little people power, it goes to their head like a strong drink” (Violet about Tom) Some how the sassy grandmother still sound posh and not as rude as if I were to say it. Why wasn’t I blessed with such an amazing accent?!

I am so lucky to be a Woman in the 21st century. Back in the early 1900’s, life was not too great for a lady of any age. If you weren’t born into a wealthy family, the options of work were between not too many. From working as a ladies maid to working in a little shop, no woman could truly amount to any of their “dreams” (which al began to change during the 20’s!!!). Yet let’s not forget about the wealthy women! Even though these ladies had it pretty good, they were only seen as one thing; the stay at home mothers. They were only seen as the their jobs being planning the next party, and what colour to pick for the roses. They, as all women were, degraded because of their sex. This made it hard for all women to be taken seriously and to achieve a proper employment such as lawyers or doctors. After being exposed to DA, I am so extremely fortunate to have a proper education, and job that I adore.

Never give up on a love, because it is never too late to love. No matter your status, connection, or regrets, do not let them get in the way of loving who you please. *Cough Cough..mary…sybil. *

Look forward to every day like it is the weekend because in Violets words, “What is a Weekend?”

Lesson #5:

(going out with a bang)

I learned how dopplegangers are real! For  example:

Here is Tom Branson the “chaffeur” or Allen Leech:

& here is Niall Horan:

The best part about it is that even the pair see it

#Hanson A match made in Downton heaven ❤
